SecureMe is an android based mobile app that enable users to sends emergency messages to close contacts and nearby volunteers, when the user gets in danger. The concept of SecureMe was among the top 20 finalists in the "App to the Future" contest organised by Microsoft and Core77 in 2013.
Must haves: Light weight, quick to launch, light graphics, quick registration, one tap activation, message alert.
Nice to haves: Sound alarm, intelligent danger detection, active mode schedule, voice activation, phonebook contact access.
I captured the high level use cases in a diagram, considering two types of users - primary and secondary. The image below also showcases the journey of a user from downloading the application to registering account.
This image captures the usage scenarios using story boarding method. Scenario 1 depicts a person approached by anti-social elements. Scenario 2 depicts an old age person suffering sudden heart-ache.
These wireframes depicts the taskflow for registration process- creating account, setting up alarm, creating emergency contacts and scheduler.
The android and windows application was developed with the help of third party and is available at http://securemedevices.com/appstore.html. Currently, the pre sales orders are being entertained. An affordable hardware is also in development for those who can not afford smart phones. The application also received media coverage on yourstory.in
